Back to Part One: Dean's Face, Neck and Hair

For Dean's clothes, I used several reference photos of Dean from Supernatural episodes. I'm not 100% happy with the result, especially since my color choices (shades of grays, black and white against a gray background) resulted in a texture that looks far too pixellated for my liking. It was a learning experience, and you can see my progress below. I used the same brushes and the same process for the jacket and shirts that I used to paint Dean's face and neck. I started with solid layers for the jacket lapels, T-shirt, button-down shirt, and jacket shoulders/sleeves, painted using the "hard round" brush. I used the "soft round" brush to paint the shading and various creases in the clothing.

This is as far as I've gotten. The background is non-existent (the black field is meant to be filler), and the wings aren't there, either.

Total Time: Somewhere around 20-30 hours
