Bonus Material: Extra Illustrations for Tipping the Scales

Tipping the Scales is a novella set in a parallel, modern-day Earth where dragons are real and the Summer Olympics have come to New York City. With that in mind, I have made some digital art in Photoshop.

I started with photos I took in Manhattan in 2022. I edited out all the logos and business signs as well as I could. In this photo of a cab on a city street, I have also edited out the pedestrians.

skyscraper in Times Square with electronic billboard ads for Visit Maine tourism and refreshing beverages and a welcome message to Olympians

ABN, the fictional American Broadcasting Network, has pulled out all the stops to advertise its upcoming broadcast of the Olympic Opening Ceremony. Unfortunately for ABN, an intern has somehow slipped their own poor attempt at graphic design into this expensive ad in Times Square. Oops! (In the real world, my excuse is that no one has trusted me with their ad creation. Also, Olympic branding is copyrighted.)

Here's my graphic of the lighthouse. It is presumably blowing the Maine tourism board's budget in this fictional Times Square ad.

Enjoy an ice cold drink. Cayna doesn't really care for them, but that won't stop this brand's marketing team from implying she would.
