Flash Fiction: Anachronism

Title: Anachronism
Word Count: 84

Buried down deep, under layers and layers of ancient artifacts and archeological marvels, lay the keyboard. It was a normal, plastic PC keyboard.

No one could figure out how it had gotten there. The plastic was partly degraded, a process that occurs naturally over thousands of years. The dirt encrusted on it matched the soil composition on the historical artifacts.

It didn’t make sense. But it was only the first anachronism, not the last, to appear in archeological digs over the next twenty years.
