Web Site with a New Look

This week, I revamped my web site. Check out the changes at danielleducrest1.angelfire.com/#1.

I began the site in 2008, and I have changed the layout 21 times. The content has changed somewhat in four years as I post new artwork and new story excerpts, but the site content does not change nearly as often as the site's graphics, layout and dynamic aspects. I'm pleased with the latest version, but I was pleased with the previous 20 iterations, too, when they were new. So, it's up in the air how long this layout will last. This isn't a bad thing, since I enjoy creating new graphics and writing web site code.

In this latest version of the site, I:
--talk about my artistic process
--display my artwork
--have links to where my art can be viewed and purchased online
--publish excerpts of a few incomplete short stories and novels
--include links and information about other writing pieces
--include a calendar of upcoming events where I will be appearing as an art vendor
--provide more information about me and my goals
--will offer an index for my blog entries (which is unavailable at the moment while I have only a small number of blog entries)

I think this is one of the strongest versions of the web site, both because the layout looks so great and I think it's the most informative. Earlier versions of the site did not include as much expository text, which I believe now was detrimental to the site. The only issue I have with the new site is that each page may take awhile to load due to high-quality graphics, though perhaps I don't need to be worried; hopefully, most visitors will have high-speed internet connections.
